Edward Elric figure by Furyu from the anime Fullmetal Alchemist.
Edward Elric is the main protagonist in the manga series created by Hiromu Arakawa. He is the youngest state alchemist in the fictional country of Amestris. His left leg was severed in a failed attempt to resurrect his mother and his right arm was taken in exchange for his brothers soul. His limbs have been replaced by sophisticated prosthetics called automail or otomeiru.
He and his younger brother Alphonse scour the world in search of the philosophers stone in hopes of restoring their bodies. Alphonse has lost his entire body and is spiritually bound to a suit of armor.
